If you are new to fun runs here are 10 of my hot tips to not disturb the positive chi of your fellow runners...1. Don't pass if you intend on transitioning to a walk within 2 meters
2. If you have stopped look behind you before taking off again into the pack
3. If you need to stop move to the left just don't halt in the middle of the track
4. If you are in a group and need to slow to a walk keep to the side in a small file so you don't form a barrier for other runners to get through
5. Don't throw your water cup on the track when finished drinking there are bins provided.
6. Don't keep repeating Rule 1. You are a arsehole.
7. Start in the correct wave for your pace it makes it alot easier for others in the bottlenecks.
8. In narrow areas warn people you are passing avoid any physical contact.
9. Smile at the volunteers as you pass.
10. Be considerate of the other runners around you while you may want to take a selfie on your mobile and jump back into the pack, wait for a gap!
LOVE It!!!
ReplyDeleteThe number of times I got elbowed as people ran past me, or sprinted across my path without warning from the right of me to the left was seriously frustrating at the Zoo run. I wish they would do pace groups - and the number of walkers who start out with the runners at all the event - WHY?!!! Go up the back. You should post a link to this on the Start To Finish facebook page hehe.
